Frequently Asked Questions

What type of paternity tests do you offer?

Legal Paternity Test

This is our highly recommended test. If the child is under 18, it is strongly recommended that you choose this option. Results can be used in court to support any legal purpose, including: amending a birth certificate, child support orders, etc.

Is the alleged father deceased?

  • We can use a FTA blood card sample or DNA sample from the deceased. The sample is usually collected by the coroner or funeral home director. There is an additional fee for using a FTA blood sample card or DNA sample from a deceased individual. The results to this test may be used for legal purposes, such as SSI or survivor benefits.

  • If the alleged father is incarcerated or has been deceased for a long time (body is not accessible) but at least one of his parents are alive and available for testing, then a Grandparentage DNA Test is the best option. Paternity can be legally determined if grand paternity is proven.

Non-Legal Peace of Mind Paternity Test

If I just want a peace of mind and do not need a paternity test to be court admissible, then this is the best option for you.

What if I don’t want the alleged father to know about the test, or he refuses to come in for the test?

If you have a toothbrush, eating utensils, toothpick or finger/toe nails from the alleged father, we can use those items to test for DNA. Please call us at 888-926-5205 to get pricing and directions on how to preserve the items for shipping to the lab.

What's the process to getting a DNA test?

The process involves scheduling an appointment online or by phone.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail. Submit a picture of your photo ID prior to testing. Bring Valid Government Issued Photo ID to appointment (all parties age 18 and over require ID).

All parties involved will be swabbed and test will get shipped to our accredited laboratory for test results. Results will be e-mailed to you.

What if the alleged father is a minor?

We have specific protocols in place for DNA testing involving minors to ensure the process is handled with care and sensitivity.

Immigration

The beneficiary will need to send our lab partners their immigration DNA-request paperwork before testing can be scheduled.

The duration required to complete the immigration DNA testing process can vary depending on the beneficiary's country of origin, as some countries may not have the necessary infrastructure for expedited results. This is unfortunately beyond our control.

Can I receive my test results by phone?

No, we will not give you your results over the phone. Results will be sent by e-mail and usps certified mail.

Will my privacy be protected?

Absolutely! We take our clients’ privacy very seriously. We will not release any information about your case to anyone without your authorization. We will always follow any special instructions you give us for communicating with you or other parties involved in your test.

Reschedule/Refund Policy

If you need to reschedule your appointment you must do so within 24 hours of your appointment time by calling 1-888-449-1091. There are NO REFUNDS.
